Pop! Farm Mural CFP
Pop! Farm currently has a large shipping container on the property that is utilized as a tool shed. Thanks to a grant from Southwest Partnership, our goal is to bring vibrancy and art to Pop! Farm by having a collaborative mural painted on the shed.
We are calling for mural proposals that will create a piece of public art for an outdoor environment that represents the different type of people who live in Poppleton and the surrounding neighborhoods, as well as shows a future without violence and includes images of loving Black families. This mural would be led by a talented and experienced artist that, ideally, already has pieces of community art in the neighborhood. By using this artist, we will keep local art consisted of other murals in the community.
This is a collaborative process. As we have already received input from community members regarding the design, community members will also be involved with the painting process through guided instructions from the artist. Community members will also participate in working at Pop! Farm to maintain and beautify the current land space. This project will not only bring vibrancy, art, and beautification to Pop! Farm and the Poppleton community, but it will also be an opportunity for community members to be involved in the beatification and community cohesion process.
Submissions are due February 14, 2020.
